Who We Are…

Valoha Giving Movement (VGM) is a large group of dedicated volunteers based in the state of Hawaii who give time and assistance to others in an effort to improve the quality of life for the houseless ohana and the community as a whole. Our goal is to offer a hand up to lead the houseless in an effort to empower themselves.

What We Do…

VGM helps the houseless and less fortunate with resumes, clothes, toiletries and food. Our purpose is to instill a sense of community and responsibility for Oahu’s houseless. Our idea of giving back isn’t solely based on monetary donations. VGM’s goal is to provide assistance, make referrals, provide resources, educate, and create lasting relationships with hopes that the people we help will pay it forward to others in need.

We host events throughout the year to give our houseless ohana a sense of inclusion. We provide meals on holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. We ensure the houseless keiki are included at Christmas time with gifts to open. We assist by collecting and donating school supplies to those in need. VGM also assists with writing resumes and interview preparation.

How It All Started…

Valoha Giving Movement began as the vision of one lady who found herself down on her luck, losing her job. Instead of seeing it as a negative, Christina Bush saw this as an opportunity to spread aloha to those with a greater need. Since that time, the group has grown to over 9,000 members and receives daily success stories from around the island.
